As with all semi-permanent makeup treatments, client safety and skin integrity come first. Nanoblading/Microblading is not suitable for individuals who fall into any of the following categories:

Medical Conditions & Health Considerations

• Pregnant or breastfeeding — hormonal changes affect healing and pigment retention.

• Diabetic (Type 1 or uncontrolled Type 2) — slower healing and increased infection risk.

• Active cancer treatment — chemotherapy or radiotherapy compromises the immune system and skin recovery.

• Blood disorders or clotting issues — increased risk of bleeding or pigment migration.

• Severe skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or active acne in the brow area.

• Autoimmune diseases (e.g., lupus, multiple sclerosis) — must be cleared by a doctor first.

• Bleeding disorders or use of anticoagulant medication (e.g., warfarin, heparin).

• Keloid or hypertrophic scarring tendency — risk of raised scars.

Medications & Recent Treatments

• Roaccutane (isotretinoin) use within the last 12 months.

• Steroid use (oral or topical) near the brow area — thins the skin.

• Recent Botox or filler near the brows — allow at least 2–3 weeks before or after treatment.

• Recent chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments — wait at least 4 weeks.

Skin & Lifestyle Factors

• Extremely oily skin types or extremely dry and flaky— pigment retention can be poor; alternative techniques like powder brows may be better suited.

• Sunburn or recently tanned skin — skin must be at its natural tone for accurate pigment selection.

• Prone to excessive sweating (e.g., athletes, hot yoga enthusiasts) — may affect healing and pigment bonding.

• Active infection or cold sores — wait until fully healed.

• Under 18 years old — not legally permitted.

Emotional Readiness

• Unrealistic expectations — Nanoblading/microblading enhances, not replaces, natural brows.

• Difficulty following aftercare — results rely heavily on healing compliance.

Nanoblading is a minimally invasive procedure so you can expect it to be slightly uncomfortable. A lot of clients liken it to either plucking or threading. A topical gel is applied to minimize discomfort.

Certain skin types may find it harder to retain the pigment, including oily skin, overly dry skins and those with large pores. These may require a third top up at a small additional cost.

• Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure

• Do not tan two weeks prior or use fake tan 5 days prior on your face.

• Do not have any type of facial/peel 2 weeks prior to treatment

• Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment

• Do not work out the day of the procedure.
  

• Do not have botox or filler two weeks prior.

• Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E 30 days prior (natural blood thinners)

• Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.

• Avoid exercise on the day of your appointment.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit/retention:

• Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours prior.

• Do not consume caffeine on the day of your procedure.

• Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)

• Wash your hair before your procedure as brows need to be kept dry for 10 days after.

Please schedule a patch test and consultation to assess whether your existing pigment can be covered. We may recommend laser removal sessions to achieve a cleaner base. Our “undo/redo” package includes both laser removal and a new brow treatment for optimal, natural results. If you are not local, please email clear images of your brows in natural light with no makeup on.

Aftercare

Your results depend on your healing — please follow these instructions carefully for the best, longest-lasting outcome.

Your new brows will go through several healing stages. It’s normal for colour and texture to change as the skin regenerates. The key is to keep the area clean, dry, and undisturbed during this process.

Immediate Post-Procedure:

- Oxidation: The pigment will darken due to oxidation, which is normal. This dark colour will fade within a week. - Cleansing: On the night of the procedure, gently clean the treatment area with distilled water (boiled and cooled) using a cotton pad to remove plasma/ink and prevent scabs. - Healing Balm: Apply a very thin layer of the provided healing balm (only if advised) with a cotton bud or clean finger. Allow your brows to settle for 3 days.

For the first 7–10 days

• Keep your brows completely dry — no water, steam, sweat, or makeup near the area.

• Sleep on your back to avoid friction.

• Use a fresh pillowcase and keep the area away from pets or hair.

• Do not soak the treated area in baths, pools, hot tubs, or swim in salt or chlorinated water for 10 days. Avoid saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, and sunbeds. - Use the plastic visors provided in the shower to keep your brows dry. This is optional if you choose to use your own method to keep your brows dry.

• Avoid exercise for 7 days, or stick to light activities that don’t cause sweating.

Avoid:

• Touching, picking, or scratching the scabs — this will remove pigment and can cause scarring.

• Applying makeup, SPF, or skincare on or around the brows.

• Steam rooms, saunas, swimming, or long hot showers.

• Exercise or anything that causes sweating.

• Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sunlight. After healing (30 days), use SPF 50 sunscreen (preferably oil-free) to prevent fading.

• Makeup: Do not apply makeup directly on the brows during healing. After about 10 days (or once scabs/skin flakes off), you may use brow makeup.

• Avoid other products on brows, especially if scabbing is present. - Itching: Do not touch, rub, pick, or scratch the area if it becomes itchy to prevent damage or colour loss.

• Other Procedures: Inform your technician of any upcoming chemical peels, medical procedures, or blood donations. Botox or fillers should be done only 2 weeks before or after the treatment.

• Growth Products: Do not use growth enhancement products like Latisse or Revitabrow, as they may alter the colour.

• Exfoliants: Avoid exfoliating or skin renewal treatments like chemical peels or microdermabrasion on the brows. These can cause premature fading.

Days 7–14

• Scabbing and flaking are normal — allow the skin to shed naturally.

• Brows may look lighter or patchy as new skin forms. This will even out over time.

• Continue to avoid heavy moisturisers or oils on the area.

• You may gently cleanse around the area and use your normal skincare, avoiding active ingredients (acids, retinoids) for at least 4 weeks.
